What is a Cowboy Kimono?
Cowboy Kimonos are denim jackets with original illustrations painted on the back and cuffs. Marisa applies vibrant colors to gently used or new jackets (and occasionally jeans), making them her “artist’s canvas.” Quite often, the work is done on jackets already worn by a client that have been “broken -in” and fit the unique form of the wearer. Cowboy Kimonos are painted with fabric paints to make them durable and washable. Fans of the wearable canvases have worn them everywhere from a New York Chocolate Fashion Show to a down and dirty doubles match at Tennis Club of Albuquerque!
